WeSchool collaborates for Maharashtra Health Hackathon – MH²

With the pandemic posing challenges after challenges, the youngsters at home are wanting to contribute solutions to the current situation in Maharashtra. In view of catalysing innovation through teenagers and young adults, MH² has been launched as one of its kind virtual hackathons in Healthcare sector with National Health Mission (NHM), Maharashtra.

The hackathon initiative will see about  260 participants create, iterate, build, and develop solutions on the challenges faced by National Health Mission (NHM), Maharashtra. These participants formed in groups would compete on key tracks:   vaccination & immunization; affordable diagnostic tools; responsive emergency services, and medical devices for improving neonatal care.

Maharashtra State Innovation Society (www.msins.in), the nodal government agency to boost innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state of Maharashtra setup under the aegis of Maharashtra State Innovative Startup Policy is driving various initiatives to provide support the startup ecosystem at multiple levels. Maharashtra Health Hackathon is one such initiative. The hackathon will begin from Friday, 23rd April and conclude on Sunday, 25th April, 2021.

Speaking on the association, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said, “In view of the collaborative initiative for academia, WeSchool as a business school has the opportunity to contribute to the innovation effort in solving healthcare challenges at a local level. Our value of breakthrough thinking, and execution resonates with the spirit of the hackathon.   At WeSchool, our courses and programs apply the ‘learning by doing’ approach that helps young talent acquire new skills and achieve learning from experience. We look forward to see creative problem solving, new ideas and practical solutions at MH².”

At the conclusion of the event, we are happy to share that WeSchool students from teams – ‘Eureka’, ‘Vital Kare’ and RapiTB- Hacktest won at the hackathon. . These winners explored innovative tech solutions in the area of vaccination & immunization, medical devices for improving neonatal care and affordable diagnostic tools.
