SUCCESSFUL CONVOCATION CEREMONY HONORS PGDM Batch (2021-23) MANAGEMENT STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENTS

Mumbai, India – S.P. Mandali’s Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research (WeSchool) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its convocation ceremony for PGDM (management) students. The ceremony, held on March 13, 2024 at Welingkar Institute of Management, Matunga, was a momentous occasion that celebrated the academic accomplishments and prospects of our management graduates.

The convocation ceremony reflected the dedication, hard work, and perseverance exhibited by our management students throughout their academic journey. It provided a platform to recognize their achievements and to inspire them as they embark on their professional paths.

The event was graced by distinguished Chief Guest-Hon’ble DGP of Maharashtra, Smt. Rashmi Shukla and Guest of Honour- Jehangir H. Press (Vice President – Strategic Accounts Management Group and Commercial Director – Qmin), Shri Advocate S. K. Jain (Chairman S.P. Mandali), Prof. Dr.Uday Salunkhe (Group Director, WeSchool), esteemed faculty members, proud families, and, most importantly, our graduating students. It featured the conferral of degrees, presentation of awards for academic excellence, and inspiring speeches by speakers.

Smt. Rashmi Shukla, our esteemed chief guest, eloquently conveyed the importance of allowing one’s actions and character to be the true measure of one’s worth, rather than solely relying on academic degrees. She underscored the significance of honing the arts of listening and communication, highlighting that aimless pursuits yield little progress. Encouraging students to carve their own paths and take charge of their destinies, she imparted invaluable insights on navigating life’s journey. Ms. Shukla concluded her captivating speech with a profound Sanskrit verse: “अमन्त्रमक्षरं नास्ति नास्ति मूलमनौषधम् । अयोग्यः पुरुषो नास्ति योजकस्तत्र दुर्लभः”, emphasizing the universal potential within every individual and the need for enabling factors.

Following her inspiring words, our next speaker, the esteemed Chairman, Sir Shri S.K. Jain, delved into the empowering concept of “Nari Shakti” and India’s standing as the world’s third-largest economic power. Stressing the imperative for the youth to play a pivotal role in advancing the nation’s prosperity, he underscored the vital importance of upholding ethics and moral values. Encouraging the audience to embrace their civic duties, Sir called for a generation of responsible citizens dedicated to the nation’s welfare.

In an engaging address, Guest of Honour and Alumni, Jehangir H Press, shared valuable insights with the graduating students.

Product: Encouraged investing in oneself through continuous learning, citing the resilience shown during challenging times like 2008 and COVID-19.
Price: Urged acknowledging one’s own value.
Place: Emphasized cultivating purpose in one’s environment for personal wellbeing, advocating for living fully rather than simply existing.
Promotion: Advised flourishing in life beyond work.
People: Stressed the importance of surrounding oneself with people who resonate with your values and prioritizing relationships with family and friends, underlining the strength of the WeSchool community.
Presentation: Highlighted the significance of radiating energy, authenticity, and resilience, shaping one’s personal brand for success and embracing setbacks as lessons.

Jehangir H Press’s address resonated deeply, providing invaluable guidance as the graduates embark on their journey beyond academia.

Then, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, our Group Director, proudly reflected on Welingkar Institute’s pivotal role in nurturing tomorrow’s leaders and change-makers. He highlighted how the commitment to excellence in management education was palpable throughout the convocation ceremony, underscoring the institution’s dedication to quality education and the exceptional caliber of its students.

He further asked the students to understand the BANI world. The emergence of the BANI World concept is not merely a theoretical exercise; it represents a fundamental shift in our understanding of the world. BANI stands for Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible, and these four characteristics capture the essence of the challenges we face. As youth of this emerging world, he inspired them to align their strategies accordingly.

The ceremony concluded with heartfelt congratulations extended to all the graduating students for their outstanding achievements. As they transition into the professional world, we hold firm confidence in their ability to make significant contributions to their respective fields and communities. Their time at Welingkar Institute has imbued them with values of excellence and integrity, ensuring they carry forward our legacy with pride and purpose.
