CII and S.P. Mandali’s WeSchool redefine tomorrow’s classroom at the ‘Principal’s Conclave’
WeSchool in association with CII – Western Region, hosted ‘Principal’s Conclave’ 2017 under theme ‘Building Institutions of Excellence’ on its Mumbai campus. The conclave attended by Deans, Vice-Principals and Directors from over forty educational institutions and colleges across Mumbai took a retrospective approach to understand and highlight the areas of improvement for new age students.

WeSchool students drive the importance of blood donation on Rakhsha Bandhan
On the auspicious occasion of Rakhsha Bandhan more than 200 WeSchool students donated blood and embarked in an initiative to sensitize the citizens about the significance of blood donation. WeSchool organised blood donation drive in association with Tata Memorial Hospital. A six minute short film ‘Khoon Mein Hai’ directed by Kussh Sinha was also launched on WeSchool campus in an imposing presence of the star cast which boasts of acclaimed Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood actors Kajal Aggarwal and Aparshakti Khurana of 'Dangal' fame, who play main characters in the film. The film in collaboration with WeSchool aimed to reinforce the social cause of saving lives through blood donation among the youth. -

IMPACT 2017, an inter-B schools cricket tournament organised by WeSchool begins at Matunga Gymkhana
As Inter MMS-PGDM Annual Cricket Tournament (IMPACT) hosted by WeSchool reaches its 25th year, it has become the most coveted sports tournament that all the MBA post graduate students across the city ardently look forward to play. This year’s event was inaugurated by Jatin Paranjape, an Ex-Indian cricketer and national selector along with Advocate S. K. Jain, Chairman, LMC, WeSchool and Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali and Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool at Matunga Gymkhana. -

Seminar on ‘Efficacy of Laws pertaining to Property and Marital Rights in Different Religions in India’
WeSchool in association with National Commission for Women and Bharatiya Stree Shakti hosted a seminar on ‘Efficacy of Laws pertaining to Property and Marital Rights in Different Religions in India’ on Saturday, 18th March, 2017. The seminar was inaugurated in the presence of Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson, Maharashtra State Commission for Women, Prof Dr Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, Meeratai Khadakkar, Prin. Judge ( Retd), Family Court, Nagpur; and Kumudini Bhargav, National Secretary, Bharatiya Stree Shakti. The seminar was aimed at a concerted effort to study the strengths and weaknesses and to extract the best from Personal laws governing different religions and to suggest required changes. It saw participation of delegates across Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujrath, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Maharashtra.

‘Holland Meets Mumbai’ by the Netherlands Consulate in Mumbai
WeSchool in collaboration with The Netherlands Consulate organised a symposium on vertical farming on WeSchool’s Mumbai campus. With an aim to introduce design-based solutions, ‘Holland Meets Mumbai’ was an initiative by the Netherlands Consulate in Mumbai under the theme ‘Dutch Design and The City’. The symposium created awareness on the concept of vertical farming, application of different farming techniques and progressive results of vertical farming in other developed economies. The event was attended by noted companies in agro business and greenhouse farming.

Foundation Fortnight at WeSchool Mumbai for PGDM 2017-19
The first day of the Foundation Fortnight at WeSchool for PGDM 2017-19 unfurled with vigor and enthusiasm with hundreds students teeming in formal black-white attire. Shri. G. Padmanabhan, Chairman, Bank of India at the Convocation ceremony at WeSchool
WeSchool, conferred diplomas at the annual convocation of the graduating batch of its Autonomous programs at its Mumbai campus. The ceremony marked the culmination of 2016-17 batches of the students of WeSchool’s autonomous programs (Post–graduate and Diploma). The Dream of ‘New’ India Becomes a Reality at the ‘SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2017’, WeSchool
WeSchool played host to the ‘SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2017,’ World’s Biggest Hackathon jointly organized by MHRD & AICTE. 32 teams consisting of 237 young geeks from institutes across India participated in the 36 hour non-stop marathon to find solutions to problem statements shared by Dept. of Atomic Energy. WeSchool was privileged to be among the only two b-schools, in addition to the 24 Engineering institutes to be chosen for hosting this nationwide initiative. -

WeSchool was abuzz with literary figures, stalwarts from the film fraternity and movie lovers at the inaugural of ‘Chitrabharti’- the weeklong festival of films that showcases the diversity of national and state award winning regional cinema from India . The annual festival was organized by Prabhat Chitra Mandali, one of the oldest film societies in India with WeSchool as its academic partner.

WeSchool sets up Agri-lab in the midst of Urban Mumbai
The lab has exhibits on various disciplines which make agriculture a multidisciplinary science. The practical learning will happen through orientation to these sciences such as Soil science, Agri Meteorology, Plant pathology, Entomology, Agri Engineering, Agronomy and Horticulture to name a few. All these are intimately connected with not only with the crop cultivation but also related to industries such as agri input industries (Seeds, agrochemicals, fertilizers, agri equipment) and agri finance, so the Agri lab will give an integrated view to the students to tackle rural projects in future, when they join industry. -

WeSchool in association with Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM) organized a conference on Consumer Insights and Foresights in changing markets, on 9th January, 2017 at WeSchool, Mumbai campus. The conference was aimed at providing a holistic picture on how corporations can develop efficient service design by adopting a consumer focused culture that will increase consumer satisfaction and will empower organizations to motivate action and effect behavioural change.
